Q. How long has the administrator been in business?

A. Mechanical Breakdown Protection, Inc (MBPI) has been administrating extended vehicle service contracts (VSCs) continuously since 1981.

Q. Does the dealer have any risks and are the insurance reserves adequate to cover the risks?

A. Extended vehicle service contracts administrated by MBPI are FULLY INSURED by a National insurance company. The contract is 100% reinsured by an A Excellent A.M. Best rated company. Therefore, all risk is adequately covered by the insurance reserves. Furthermore, as the VSC is a contract between the consumer and insurance company, risk is adequately transferred away from the dealer.

Q. Is it easy for my dealership people to do business with the administrator?

A. Yes. As soon as the administration agreement is signed, supplies and instructions will be sent immediately to the dealership. In addition, an agent from MBPI will personally explain to dealership personnel the simple procedures that need to occur to process business and handle a claim. Finally, there is a toll free number that dealership personnel can call from 7:00 am CST to 6:00 pm CST with any questions.

Q. Is it simple to phone in a claim, and are claims reimbursed promptly?

A. MBPI has established simple procedures to process a claim and be reimbursed quickly. Once the dealership repair facility has analyzed the repair situation, the repair facility may call MBPI using the toll free number. MBPI's phones are answered by a REAL PERSON (not an automated phone messaging system) and the calls are quickly routed to an available claims adjuster. In most cases, authorization for repair is made over the phone. Once the repair has been made to the customer's satisfaction and all of the applicable repair orders have been received and approved by MBPI, MBPI will promptly reimburse the dealership's repair facility with a credit card or check payment.
